Police make arrests in Home Invasion

On May 29th, 2021 members of the Morden Police Service were dispatched to a residence in Morden where a home was broken into and the homeowner was assaulted. Police responded to the address and observed the victim had minor injuries and noted extensive damage throughout the residence.

The victim advised police that he was sleeping when he heard the front door get forced open and two individuals entered the house. The suspects began assaulting the homeowner demanding money. Once the homeowner was knocked to the ground the suspects began damaging his property. The suspects fled the scene before police arrived. Through a subsequent investigation and assistance from the homeowner, the suspects were identified.


As a result of this incident, a 23-year-old resident of Winkler was arrested and is facing charges of Break, Enter and Commit Assault and Mischief Over $5000. The accused was released on conditions to appear in Morden Provincial Court in August 2021.


Also, a 22-year old resident of the RM of Stanley was arrested and is facing charges of Break, Enter and Commit Assault and Mischief Over $5000. He was also released on conditions to appear in Morden Provincial court in October 2021.
