The Morden Police Service is pleased to announce the promotion of Sgt. Sean Aune to Inspector.
The Inspector is a new position approved for 2021 that will provide significant improvement for the structure and operational effectiveness of the Service. It will provide a much-needed layer of administrative support to assist with the operations of the Service and support our Supervisors in their roles. Succession planning for the Service is also an important piece that this position will address, along with promotional opportunities and a level of enhanced professionalism.
Sean Aune started as a Constable with the Morden Police Service in October 2000. He was promoted to Sergeant in January 2010 where he provided operational leadership through supervision of subordinates as well as review and direction on various major investigations and projects. He became a member of the newly created Regional Support Tactical Team in 2014, comprised of members from Altona, Winkler and Morden Police Services.
In 2018, Sgt. Aune attended the Canadian Police College in Ottawa where he completed the Senior Police Administration Course. This course provides skills in leadership techniques for senior police management, with candidates attending from all over the world.
Sean’s experience, leadership skills and administrative knowledge of policing operations make him an excellent candidate for this position. He brings a level of management experience that will help ensure continued growth while providing support to the membership and service to our community.
Respectfully Submitted,
