At 1:45 pm, police received a report of a suspicious gift card purchase at a local business. Police learned that a female purchased $400 worth of gift cards and when questioned about her purchase she was evasive and seemed emotional when leaving the business. Police located the female nearby in her vehicle. She told the police that she was on the phone with her bank but hung up once the police told her it was probably a scam. She had scratched the back of the gift cards and provided the numbers to the scammers prior to police arriving.
