June 27th – July 11th 2022

 During this reporting period, MPS issued: 

  • Two tickets for Drive Without a Valid Driver’s License which carries a fine of $298 
  • One ticket for Speeding (126km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $391 
  • One ticket for Speeding (127 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $403 
  • One ticket for Speeding (121 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $325 
  • One ticket for Speeding (118 km/hr in a 100 km/hr zone) which carries a fine of $285 
  • One ticket for Drive While Disqualified which carries a fine of $672.00 
  • Two tickets for Drive an Unregistered Vehicle which carries a fine of $298 
  • Three tickets for Disobey Traffic Control Device namely red light which carries a fine of $203 
  • One ticket for operation of a motor vehicle while using a cellular device which carries a fine of $672 
  • Four tickets for failing to move over and reduce to proper speed while passing an emergency vehicle which carries a fine of $298 
  • Three tickets for unlawfully transporting alcoholic beverages in a motor vehicle which carries a fine of $237 
  • Two tickets for unlawful transportation of Cannabis in or on a motor vehicle which carries a fine of $237 
  • Three tickets for Disobey Traffic Control Device namely Stop Sign with carries a fine of $203 

June 27th, 2022 

Police were dispatched to the 200th block of 9th street after receiving a phone call stating a disturbance at a residence. Police arrived on scene and spoke with complainant and family members who reported damage to personal items. Police are continuing their investigation. 

June 30th, 2022 

Police received a warrant of arrest for an 18-year-old male for failing to attend Morden Provincial Court. This male later turned himself in and was released on an Appearance Notice for Morden Provincial Court in September. 

July 1st, 2022 

While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop and detected an odor of liquor coming from the driver. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a warn reading. The driver was issued a 90 day driving suspension and a 30 day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $700 administrative penalty. 

While on general patrol, police observed a vehicle swerve within its lane. Police conducted a traffic stop and observed a large open bottle of Corona in the vehicle. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which was refused. The driver was charged with Refusal to Comply with a breath demand and issued a ticket for unlawful transportation of liquor in a motor vehicle which carries a fine of $237. 

July 2nd, 2022 

Police were advised of an assault on a 23-year-old male by his two roommates and another male. The two suspects were located and charged with assault and released on an Undertaking to appear at Morden Court in September. 

July 3rd, 2022 

While on general patrol, police conducted a traffic stop and detected an odor of liquor coming from the driver. Police made a demand for the driver to provide a sample of their breath on the Roadside Screening device which resulted in a warn reading. The driver was issued a 72hr driving suspension and a 3 day impoundment of the vehicle along with a $400 administrative penalty. 

At 12:16am Police were dispatched to the 300 block of Nelson Street regarding loud music. Police attended and spoke to the homeowner who agreed to turn the music down and move inside. 

July 5th, 2022 

Police were dispatched to the 300 block of North Railway Street for a theft. Police attended and spoke with an employee who stated that a case of alcoholic beverages were stolen and provided a suspect description. Police are continuing their investigation. 

At 10:45pm, police received a call of a single vehicle collision. When police attended, they observed vehicle parts and leaking fluid leading away from the scene. Police located the damaged vehicle and attended to the residence. 23-year-old male who was visibly intoxicated with slurred speech, heavy odor of liquor and bloodshot eyes. The accused confirmed he had been driving and was arrested for impaired driving and released on an Undertaking to appear in Morden Provincial Court in September. 

July 6th, 2022 

While on general patrol, police observed a Morden youth who is known to be on curfew conditions and was breaching the curfew. The suspect was advised he was under arrest and was later released on an Appearance Notice to appear at Morden Provincial Court in September. 

Police received a call of a theft from motor vehicle. The caller stated that a flashlight was stolen as well as damage to the interior of the vehicle. Police are continuing investigations. 

July 7th, 2022 

Police received a call regarding a suspect who was wanted by the Morden Police Service. The suspect was located and fled on foot, after brief foot pursuit the suspect was arrested on several charges. The suspect was later released on an Undertaking to appear at Morden Provincial Court in September. 

July 10th, 2022 

Police were dispatched to two local restaurants due to an angry customer who attended both restaurants and caused a disturbance. Police were given the same description at both restaurants and will be continuing their investigation. 

While on general patrol police were called to the 300th block of 12th street. The homeowner advised that he had several items stolen from the back of his truck and provided a detailed list and amounts. Police are continuing their investigation.
